Tablets Ahead of Smartphones in Generating Internet Traffic

Adobe Digital Index has revealed a new trend generating in Internet usage, Tablets are providing more traffic than the Smartphones, 8% and 7% respectively. Tablets have taken of tremendously and its not just the viewrship but also amount spent on the online purchases is higher than the smartphones, and average conversion rate among the tablet users was 54% & 19% more than the smartphone and desktop users.

Now this is new trend would a very big factor for many marketing firms and technology firms, which had concentrated on providing a better service to smartphone user by providing a mobile optimized sites, but tablets taking a lead over the smartphones would turn the tide towards tablet optimization.

Another interesting factor is the geographical usage of tablets and smartphones, Internet users in UK are more likely to surf via tablet. In US, Canada, France & Germany the tablet users have surpassed the smartphone counterparts in usage, while in Japan and China, this trend is yet to pick momentoum. But the internet usage traffic has doubled in all this countries when compared with the previous years results.

In this new era of smartphones getting bigger and tablets getting smaller, the marketing and technology firms have to work on a platform which provide the best optimised sites for all kind of devices, now they can't discriminate the users on the kind of devices the user have.
