What’s in name? Ask RIM, sorry BlackBerry

About five years ago I didn’t know the maker of BlackBerry Smartphones was RIM (Research In Motion) although I had seen many managers and CEO’s flaunted this device and it was the cool or have to gadget then. But time changed, iPhone came so did Samsung, LG, Sony, etc with touch screen phones and we the younger breed became the cooler lot. Interest in BlackBerry faded and was termed as BalckBrick, if any one flaunted it. RIM was very slow to react to the changes and its stock dwindled since beggining of 2009 and bottomed out to $15 in mid of 2012, which was down 90% of 2008's high.

RIM decided that it will change and showed its intention to the world in May 2012, during the unveiling of its BalackBerry 10 Operating Systems.  It released the BlackBerry 10 and prototype touchscreen phone to developers.
